Below is a list of those who have supported our industry and our friends in Montgomery by contributing to the RAPIDES PAC. At our general membership meeting many pledged to contribute. Those pledges are listed under the column "PLEDGED." All of us owe a great debt of gratitude to those listed below who have given. Many of you have not yet given and we hope you will stand by the commitments you made at the meeting. We are counting on you! Many of our members have not contributed and we sincerely hope you do plan to do your part. This is our last chance
to support those who will be voting for or against our industry in the spring.If you do not believe we are facing serious legislative problems after all you have seen and heard, there is no hope (for you or our business). Remember, there are well over 300 companies that represent almost 1,000 store fronts in Alabama. We have heard many operators comment that others will give, so they don't need to contribute. Not only is that not right (fair), it obviously will not work (see list below). If you are in the business, you will be as significantly impacted by what we face as the next person in the business! It is discouraging to think that so many operators do not understand the eminent threats we face as an industry or in some cases expect others to work for them. We are a breath away from following in the footsteps of some of our neighboring states who have made our business unlawful! Those businesses no longer exist, so don't believe it can not happen here. We don't believe any of you want a "cease and desist" order arriving on your desk. Right now is your only chance to do something about it. The deadline is now!
Please review this list very carefully. Make sure you pass along your thanks to those who have stood up to be counted. If you have not yet made your contribution, please, please do so today!
