Please click on the video link below.  It is a temporary, unedited draft  of one of our recent video testimonials.  We placed this here while the permanent Borrow Smart web site is being completed.  We are doing this as a preview of much, much more to come -- and soon. 

How can anyone view this and not come away with a sense that our customers are not all bad, stupid people who always do bad, stupid things -- as they are so often portrayed in the press?  AND, how can they not come away with the message that our customers value the service we provide and we do not get them "stuck in endless, predatory debt?"  To the contrary, this customer seems to be saying we saved him from going "over the edge."  Our customers are so much more than just a number to us.  In so many cases they become our friends as you see and hear below.

Remember, this is only one video.  There are nine more like this plus many more written versions that will all be on the Borrow Smart web site.  Also, all videos will be distributed at our press conferences and other very important venues to be held soon.  Producing this information is only step one.  Now, the important part will begin.  They will be launched to the public and to other significant groups and people.  Stay tuned!!

WHAT WE ARE DOING

We will produce between five and seven, studio quality 30 second video customer testimonials.  The spots will be hosted on the web and made available in DVD for distribution to the press, to legislators, to regulators and to our members.  The testimonials will also be distributed to the press when we hold our grand CFL roll-out announcement.

You know that all we see or hear in the press are the horror stories of people who have bad things happen to them when they take out a title or payday loan.  We know these stories are the exception and not the rule, but that's the story our adversaries want to publicize.  The general public, including those who legislate for and against us, believe this is how our customers end up when they do business with us.  That's all they ever hear!  Why would they think otherwise?  Our adversaries know these stories add more nails to our collective coffins so they continue to crank them out.

So, we are out to tell the other side of the story!  A story that is not the exception, but the rule.  We will produce our own spots since we cannot count on the press to be balanced in their reporting of the true facts about our industry or our customers. 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

What we need are "a few good prospects" who are willing to speak on camera about their experience with your company.  It is easy and simple.  You might compare it to going on American Idol or another reality TV show -- except this is done one-on-one without an audience.  The taping session will be just your customer and one or two other folks who run the equipment.  It will be fun and we are sure those who participate will enjoy both the trip and the chance to tell their story.

THE PLAN

Here are is an outline of the plan:

  • We will tape at least ten testimonials in Birmingham on a date in late July or early August (to be determined later). 

  • CFL will pay mileage to Birmingham and put up the participants in a hotel close to the studio in downtown.  So, this is an "all expense paid trip" to Birmingham for those who want to participate.

  • The final cut-off for you to submit names to us is Monday, July 16th.

  • Some have asked about additional incentives for our customers.  If you have a situation where you think it is necessary to offer something extra, please contact Robin (below) and she will most likely be able to arrange free tickets to one of several area family venues such as McWane Aquarium & I-Max or Alabama Adventure.

  • Click on the Get Handout button to download and print the detailed instructions for finding customers and coordinating their trip (this may take a moment).  You may also want to provide the Borrow Smart Success Stories part of the package to your customer for more information. Get Handout

  • You should immediately (like today) make a list of those who you believe will do this and contact them in the order of those most likely to participate.  Once you have your list contact your customers and complete the questionnaire (from Get Handout above) for each prospect.

  • When you have your questionnaire filled out you can enter the information about your testimonial prospects directly by clicking on the Enter Info button here.  Enter Info

That's all there is to it.  We think this will be a lot of fun for everyone.  And, it will help us tell a side of the story that is seldom told except directly to us in our stores by our customers.
